Busy start to 2019 - January

Writer: hannemadehannemade

The start of the year saw the return of the fabulous Liz Cooksey. Last time we explored story in the round and this year it was all about the 3D. Spending the morning getting carried away with printing and creating a selection of wire pieces. Liz then helped us construct our pieces into a piece of wood. Once again it was a fabulous day and the work produced was beautiful.

(Liz will be back in 2020)

My first workshop here at Shed 76 1/2 was Stitched Collage. I am always surprised how all the work is always different each time I do this workshop. After a busy day collaging and doodling with our machines and needles a wide variety of pieces were created...

Sometimes I get to go on a workshop and this one was at the Halifax embroiderers guild with Von Allen of Heart Felt dogs...

We had a lovely day needle felting a dog. It was a lovely day and Hatty came along too. Von got us started creating the main body of our dogs and by lunchtime we had the main sections started. Not having a dog I made up a dog that actually began to look like my friend Jane's dog Max. Hatty was inspired by her dog doodles and we both had a really enjoyable day.
