Anne is excited to be running an ONLINE (via ZOOM) summer school for 2025 on Monday 18th, Tuesday 19th and Wednesday 20th August 2025.

Each day will run from 10am to 12pm UK time.

This session will be a LIVE for 2 hours and then you can work on your book, in your own time, before returning the next day.

The 2 hours will be a zoom and will be recorded for your future reference.

Abstract Painted Hoop and stitch

This workshop brings together Anne's love of painting and stitching. Working on paper, fabric and in a hoop, you will explore a range of painting and mark making techniques to create a background that will then inspire the stitching you do. Anne will take you through this step by step and be on hand to give advice and inspiration.

Requirements

Day 1 -Playing and samples

A range of paints, inks, etc. Try and use what you have, you don’t need to go out and buy anything expensive.

(Anne will be using watercolours, inks, emulsion (test pot) inktense blocks.)

Making own tools - ideas to have to hand - cotton buds, matches, twigs, Feather, string, card, card tubes, old credit card, etc

Aluminum can eg coke can

Sticks to make handles with strong tape and string to bind on

Paint brushes, water pot, kitchen towel, palette/mixing plate, scissors, craft knife

Paper and fabric to work onto

Day 2 -refining and starting hoop

10 or 12 inch embroidery hoop

Fabric, cotton is ideal white or cream (old table cloth is ideal)
